Just a little update on Dad Lenz's hand. It's starting to heal now, albeit slowly, and while the daily hydrogen peroxide baths are helping, it still apparently "hurts like a son of a bitch". Dad told me he could hardly see into his finger now. He seemed a little disappointed, but seriously, can you imagine being able to see inside your finger? Yikes. No thank you.

So far I've spent the afternoon watching the second disc of 1995's "Pride and Prejudice" while I work on job #2 and fight off this annoying headache. Needless to say, I'm doing more watching than working. Maybe that's why I'm not getting anywhere with work. Ooops! Have any of you guys seen this version of P&P? I realize that Mrs. Bennett is supposed to be a drama queen and a little annoying, but GOOD LORD is she annoying in this one!!! It's all I can do not to fast-forward through her scenes. Alison Steadman does a great job doing shrill and crAAzy.

I've decided to go ahead and sell our family pump organ. (No, not that kind, you pervert!) If anyone knows anyone in the market for antique musical instruments, please give them my number. It's in good working order, though I'm sure there are things to be fixed internally, etcetera. I'd like to have this out of here within the next month so I can move my home office into the guest bedroom. While it's convenient to have my office out in the open, it's also incredibly annoying. There is always pressure to be working on something, and then while I'm sitting here at the desk I inevitably screw around on LibraryThing or something instead of working. Plus, I'd like to feel like I'm "going to work" instead of just sitting in the living room. Anyway, I'll attach a picture of the organ in the near future.

Off to work I go! Oooh, Colin Firth is wet! Maybe I'll just watch a little bit more....

Hello again, strangers!

Apparently I have some kind of a problem, since it's been yet another month since my last post. I've thought about this off and on, and the only thing I can think of is that...well...I'm a slacker. Sorry!

Lately I've been thinking a lot about what the heck I want to do with my life. I mean, I love my job (both #1 and #2), but I'm getting tired of working so darn much and still barely scraping by financially. Why oh why can't I be interested in a job that would pay a livable wage and that wouldn't be soul-killing at the same time? Am I asking for too much? Geez. It seems like I should have figured SOMETHING out at this point in life, aside from the fact that Corporate America sucks big old smelly balls. I know I keep joking about it, but is there a job with a decent salary that involves napping, reading, and perhaps nature photography or some such thing? Or something that involves professional shopping and napping? Or maybe just napping? If anyone out there has any leads, contact me as soon as possible!

On another note, I have reached another breaking point in the my-life-or-mass-amounts-of-stuff realm. I'm getting so sick of walking around things and not having a home for things and just generally seeing stuff piled everywhere I look. I have asked my mom to, once again, call the Antique Guy and see if he's going to be in the area, and this request seems to fall on deaf ears. If I knew his last name, or number I'd just do it myself. Blech. In the meantime, I'll keep on piling things in the basement in preparation for the day that it will be sold.

And on yet another note, the Lenzes are a little worried about Dad Lenz. He cut his finger on a table saw almost 2 weeks ago, and it has yet to heal. Per the emergency room nurse, it's a very clean cut, no nerves, mucles, tendons, bone, etc were involved, but the cut has yet to close or heal. It therefore has an infection and is oh-so-cleverly classified as a "non-healing wound". Wow. Wonder where they came up with THAT term?!? Anyway, he has an appt with a hand surgeon on Thursday and we're all nervously waiting around to see what the next step is going to be. Yay. It was so nice to not have to really worry too much about Dads' health the last 2 years, but we're back on the same old train again, though it's hopefully going to be nothing like the last 4 times or so.

I'm up to 42 books read for my 999 Challenge, and very glad to be past the halfway point. I'm apparently reading 9 books right now, but 4 of them are sitting on my shelf looking a little neglected, with bookmarks just hanging out the top edge. Poor dears. I'll have to get back to them again soon. In the meantime, I have 2 books due at the library in the next few days, and I have to read 4 books in a series in the next week and a half. Seems like all I'll be doing is reading (no complaints here!), but sadly this thing called "work" keeps popping in to disturb me. Ah well, things could always be worse!

Off to pack for my summer house in the UK! Oh, uh, I mean fold the laundry. Darn! I always get those things confused. Good night!
